Hi @ThomasPage! The Hot-or-Not/Tinder model is being applied to everything. It makes a lot of sense for many products, culling the noise and mutually empowering two sides of a market.
Which side of the market (those recruiting vs. looking for work) have you found more difficult to attract?
@rrhoover Bay Area technology companies are desperate for quality talent so it hasn't been too difficult bringing them onboard. Plus with our model they have nothing to lose by using it. The talent side of the equation I believe is the more difficult side of Blonk to build up. However, if you create more value to talented folks and people get jobs through us we will achieve our goals. One of the incentives currently is that you can talk to founders of top notch startups on Blonk. As a rule of thumb, if the talent is hanging out in a certain place the companies will go there.
Hey @thomaspage I just downloaded and it was kind of a rough experience. It would be nice to be able to be more specific on the job type you're looking for; if I'm I product person, I wouldn't want to see Social Media Guru openings. It also seems inefficient to remove all my linkedin skill endorsements when I should be able to just pick a high level category of what I'm looking for (ie- Design, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Product, etc).
@rrhoover I think the biggest issue with Angel List jobs is how dated things can get; I've seen some pretty big companies with company sizes well smaller than they are and I'm not sure how often openings get taken down, even if filled.
We launched 3 weeks ago and have sign ups from all over, but right now we currently only have jobs in the Bay Area. Our goal is to make it work for a small, specific niche. In person interviews have taken place as a result of Blonk
@Evanish curation is vital to the long run success of what we are doing. It's our job to make that happen, and we are iterating to get there. Our goal is to deliver you your dream job or dream employee as the first one up. It's a good challenge for us.
