My wife Aeneas is studying health sciences, and her textbooks are excellent but very long. I built her a periodic-table game (Element Rush) to drill the elements. It helped, so we kept going: chapter by chapter, book by book.

• Labs you can touch: titrate to the pink endpoint, focus a microscope, draw up a dose
