Hey everyone! I built Backstories as a place to surface the stories behind startups and share what goes on behind the scenes; the inspiration and the journey to launch.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and more than happy to answer any questions :)
Also, huge shout out to @mikaelcho and the team at Crew. I used their platform for the design and development of this product.
@v4violetta Hey Violeta, thanks for your comment. Great questions.
1. Yes, we're open to anyone. Looking to share as many stories as possible. Everyone has a unique experience and learnings, so the more the merrier.
2. Awesome :)
3. I'm working on pages to organise startups by Location and Market (messaging, analytics, seo, etc). This will hopefully make it easier to find relevant stories when the site has a bit more content. I'd love to hear your ideas / suggestions on how you'd like to see stories organised :)

@ashread_ Looks great. The structure of each story is beatiful, where I can see the conversation, and the value in a sidebar.
When you have these organized in logical categories, a 'similar products' section would certainly help me where I want to see related products by market, rather than going back to listings and start finding.
@vingar Thanks for your kind works. Similar product suggestions is a great idea, cheers! I'll add that to my to-do list once we have a few more stories on the site.
Appreciate you taking the time to check out Backstories and share your thoughts.
@v4violetta@ashread_ Congrats in the launch, looks great!
What's your longer term vision for the platform?

I really like the idea of sharing stories, but it would be really helpful to see a founder to founder connect, via social media or email.
Any plans for monetization?
@ishadua90 Hey Isha, appreciate you taking the time to comment. Would you like to be able to contact the founder via Backstories? No real monetization plans just yet. Just looking to build up the community and share some stories at the moment.

@ashread_ Sure a founder to founder connect (like a chat/messaging mechanism) will be a great add on, since there is going to be a reference point in the conversation. IMHO its will be better than a cold linkedin request/email.
As founders there is lot that we can learn from each other.
Love the thought and initiative behind this.
I've always looked for more stories behind startups rather than "outside-the-shell" type of stories (funding, milestones etc.)
We're building a similar concept but a bit different than you guys.
@Teamstoryapp is more about capturing and logging your startup moments, thoughts along the way.
Maybe there is a cool way we can connect Backstories and Teamstory :P
Anwways, great job!
Check Teamstory (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/...) out as well and let me know what you think about it!
Cheers,
Kevin
@Teamstoryapp@dh9kim Hey Kevin, love the look of Teamstory app. I'm sure it'd be great to look back on all of the moments captured within Teamstory. Maybe we could chat sometime? :)
@ashreas_ I used to do this with the startups I feature on StartupLi.st. Such a good way to add more context to the startups and surface who the people are behind it. Jut read Moz's story, but want to know more. Do you ask other startups more questions?
@thinker Hey Nick, at the moment I'm just asking the three questions: Inspiration; how did you launch and top tip. I wanted to give each post a consistent structure and also make sure I don't ask each founder to spend too much time contributing. Would be cool to hear what extra info you'd like? :)
Good catch, @erictwillis. I just told our story. I've done it before, usually when speaking with people, but am glad to have a place that's just for the backstory. Our's is far more interesting that what we do.
