What it is: Avatar.gift is our attempt at keeping who you are alive. For humanity, one small step toward that goal; for you, the first step toward living forever — an AI that learns who you are, lives entirely on your iPhone, and starts preserving your wisdom today.

That's also why it's built the way it is. An AI that truly knows you ends up holding a lot of you, and I wasn't willing to hand that to anyone's servers — so the AI lives where the data lives. Every word stays on-device, there's no account and no server. The App Store privacy label is literally "Data Not Collected."

What it does today:

Puts your iPhone's own apps to work — from one plain sentence: sets and checks Reminders, adds and reads your Calendar, writes and finds Notes, looks up Contacts, drafts a message or an email, opens links and apps, runs your Shortcuts
Searches the web when it isn't sure, instead of guessing — the query goes straight from your phone to Bing or DuckDuckGo, with no server of ours in between; it's the only thing that ever goes online
Tracks your money, habits and goals — and builds a custom tracker on the spot for anything else you want to keep count of
Assistants you shape yourself for different parts of your life (work, life, your own avatar)
A memory that grows the more you talk, and stays yours: read, correct or delete any of it in the app
Import your own notes and documents; it learns from them on the phone
Asks before acting whenever you want it to — you decide that per ability

Who it's for: anyone who wants an assistant that remembers them, but doesn't want that memory sitting on a server.

Being honest about the trade-off: a phone-sized model isn't as clever as the cloud giants. It will sometimes get things wrong — that's the price of privacy this strong. It gets smarter with every update, and your memories carry over.

For the technically curious: the whole stack — the language model, the memory system and the search index — runs on the iPhone. No backend exists.
