It's a brat summer with Audio Chat ;)
With Audio Chat, you can upload your audio recordings and ask any questions about them (summaries, specific points, "who said this?", etc.) For context, I'm a new grad who has been going through the full-time job interview process. I record all my interviews so I can listen back and figure out how to improve my answers or see what I messed up on. I figured it would be so much easier to be able to "chat" with my recordings instead of listening to the full recording. For instance, I would ask:
"List all of the interview questions that were asked."
"How could I improve my answer on the time complexity question?"
"What do you think I need to practice given my responses?"
This would also be great for lectures:
"Summarize the key takeaways"
"What specifically did the professor say would be on the exam?"
"Expand on what he said about state variables."
And meetings:
"What features does the client need by next week?"
"What is our ROI this quarter?"
"What is our investor's biggest concern right now?"
And much, much more! Hope this can help you in some way :)
(DISCLAIMER: Audio Chat currently only supports files <=4MB. If this gets enough traction, I will keep hacking to accommodate unlimited file size!)

@shridharathi Iāve been looking for something like this for such a long time. Thanks for making this will try it out!

Wow, Audio Chat sounds like a super handy tool, especially for someone who records everything like I do! I love the idea of just asking questions instead of replaying the whole thing. How accurate is it with recognizing voices or pulling specific details? Also, any plans for handling larger files soon? Keep up the good work!
@davidcarter Thanks for the support David! I'm definitely figuring out how to handle larger files given there was so much support for the product. I would say the Deepgram tech used is quite accurate in recognizing voices and discerning between speakers. Let me know what features you would like to see!

I like it ... it can really simplify keeping track of meeting recordings ... you can even delete the original recordings after some time and just keep this record.
I see a big potential for this in B2B market. The only issue the competition from the big players will be fierce and will come soon.
Well done, clever, clean, smart.
Hey Shridhar,
How does the AI handle accents or background noise in the audio files?
Do you have any plans to add features for collaborative note-taking or sharing insights from recordings with team members?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hi Kyrylo, collaborative spaces would be such a useful feature! And I would say it's quite good at denoising - try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

This is such a cool concept, @shridharathi! I love the idea of being able to query audio recordings directly. How does the AI handle different accents or audio quality? Also, do you have plans for any integrations with other platforms, like Zoom or Teams? Could be a game changer for many! š
@christopherdavidanderson Hi Christopher, I appreciate the support! The AI technology is quite good at detecting voices against background noise and handling accents. Try it out and lmk what you think!
Integrations would be cool ā is that something you would personally use? Let me know what other features you would want to see!

I stumbled across this app while browsing for tools to help with my online courses, the idea's cool but hits a wall with the 4MB limit, any chance of making it more flexible soon? also have you thought about adding features for non-audio notes, could boost its usability
@alexandreinvyo Hey Alexandre! I just wanted to get an initial reaction to the product as quickly as I could which involved having this 4MB limit (due to Vercel serverless function limitations). Now that I see that so many people would use this, I will get rid of the file size limit by the end of this week!
And yes, non-audio notes would be useful as well, will definitely see if I can expand beyond audio!

Not sure about this software, I've seen similar tools like Otter.ai and Sonix which also transcribe and sort through audio files, but they offer more versatile features like handling larger files and supporting different formats. The 4MB limit is quite a letdown, plus, relying too much on AI to catch specific details might not always be accurate, feels like it could be more trouble than listening to the recording yourself and, wouldn't you want to know the limitations before needing to rely on it fully? Iād be cautious about fully depending on it without some real-world testing to see if it genuinely saves time or just adds another layer of complexity to workflows.
@bizgrowthleader Great points Lee. Regarding 4MB limit, that should be gone by the end of this week (just wanted to ship fast to get some initial feedback!) And I would say the tools you mentioned are more marketed for B2B usage and I would sculpt this more for the average consumer. In my experience, the AI is actually surprisingly great at picking up on details and formulating responses, but I would love to know how you find it!
Let me know if you have further feedback or thoughts, would love to discuss more with you. What would you want to see in a V2?
