Hey everyone, I'm Karim. I built Arnoby for my sister, who's in university and, like a lot of Gen Z, has basically zero patience for sitting down and reading a textbook. She gets bored fast, and honestly, so do I, I get hooked on things pretty easily myself. So I figured, why not point that same psychology at something actually useful instead of something that just eats time. Arnoby runs on the same reward loops that make games and social apps hard to put down, aimed at studying instead. The MVP is intentionally simple, one core feature: a study timer. Study, earn coins, spend them in the shop, unlock something new. That small hit of reward is what pulls you back to do it again, the same loop behind most habit-forming apps, just pointed somewhere that actually helps. This is early, and I've got a lot more of these addictive mechanics designed and ready to test on real users. Would love your honest feedback, especially on how the loop feels after a few sessions

What's the most addictive non-game app you've used, and why does it work?

I've been deep in gamification research while building a study app, and it's made me pay way more attention to which non-game apps actually hook me. Duolingo's streaks, Snapchat's snap score, even a habit tracker's little dopamine hit when you check something off, they're all borrowing the same mechanics games have used forever.

Curious what does it for you. Is it a streak you don't want to break, a collection you want to complete, a leaderboard you're quietly competing on? Or something else entirely?
