Very easy to self-host on DigitalOcean, and deploying cloud functions has like zero overhead. Using it as a backend for static sites with contact forms. Pretty nice because I can add custom server-side validation without needing a traditional web server. It's like microservices for people who don't care about docker and k8s.

AppWrite makes it incredibly much easier to handle the back-end side of your Flutter apps, I can't recommend them enough! They also have a very friendly and helpful community that can support you when you need it.
