Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m excited — and slightly nervous in the traditional “I shipped something and now strangers can touch it” way — to launch Amazingface today.
Amazingface is a private encrypted photo vault for iOS.
The motivation was simple: I wanted a place for private photos that felt more like a locked drawer than a cloud folder with a marketing team.
What Amazingface focuses on:
* Photos stay encrypted and stored locally
* No cloud photo album
* Photos can only be opened inside the app
* AmazingDrop lets you send encrypted photos/files to another vault
* The relay server only handles transfer and deletes the file after delivery
v1 is deliberately focused. No social feed. No AI-generated “surprises.” No algorithm deciding that today is the perfect day to resurface a photo from 2017.
I’d love feedback on:
1. Whether the privacy promise is immediately clear
2. Whether AmazingDrop is easy to understand
3. What part of the onboarding feels confusing, too technical, or too “privacy app written by someone who owns too many black hoodies”
Thanks for checking it out. I’ll be around all day replying to comments.

Amazingface new update is here!
Your private vault now supports videos encrypted on your device, not stored in a cloud photo library. You can send them via end-to-end encrypted AmazingDrop, too.

The local encryption gives me peace of mind since nothing leaves my phone unencrypted. AmazingDrop transfer between my iPhone and iPad was surprisingly quick and painless.

@rdvantunzwcz1 Thank you for comments. I'm still working on macOS and Windows versions, hopefully can launch them soon.
