It sits in your MacBook's notch. Every Claude Code session gets a card, every sub-agent gets a row, and each one has a little pixel programmer. You see who's working, on which model, and who's waiting on you. Free and open source.

Hi, I'm Morse. I usually have a few Claude Code windows going at the same time, a hobby project, my day job, some experiment, and I wanted one place to see which agent is doing what in which project, if one is stuck, and if one is waiting for me to answer something. So now they all live in the notch.
My favorite part is the crew. Every agent gets a little pixel character with its own look, and they feel like my employees at this point. I can watch them go through the steps while they work.
I'm not sure yet what's missing, people have to try it first. Maybe a phone app later, so I can answer from the gym or while I'm out getting food. Tell me what you'd want it to do next, and if anything is hard to read, like one of the crew's expressions, or if the UI makes you stop and think before you click.
could the card show how long an agent has been waiting? i'd want to answer the oldest one first
@leoheo Good idea, the card doesn't show that yet. If you'd really use it, open an issue on GitHub and I'll add it in the next version for you: https://github.com/morsechimwai/agent-valley/issues
@leoheo You didn't need the issue, it's in 0.3.4, out today. A red badge beside "needs you" shows how long each one has waited, and the oldest comes first. Thanks for the idea!
The "who's waiting on me" row is the part I'd use most. Once I have three or four Claude Code sessions going, what costs me time is a session sitting on a permission prompt I didn't notice. How do you detect that state, through hooks or by reading the session output? Great call making it open source.
@anirudh_madhavan Thank you so much. Sounds like the same problem I kept running into. In the current version the crew can call out to you, and it's more than a notification sound. They might ask for your permission, tell you they're done, or let you know they're heading off for a break when you hit your limit. To answer your question: no hooks for that. Claude Code writes a small status file for each session, and the app reads it, so it knows when one is waiting on you.
Fun idea! How did you tackle the creation of the pixelated characters? Does it persist between sub-agents? And do you know if it works with Claude sessions started through e.g. T3Code?
@melvin_valster Thanks! The characters are 12×12 pixel grids written into the code row by row, one letter per colour (skin, hair, glasses, shirt). Each sub-agent type gets its own look, and each session keeps the same character, even after /clear or in a new worktree.
As for T3Code, I'll admit I didn't know it until now. If you'd like to use it with AgentValley, I'll try to add support in the next version.
@melvin_valster One more thing: if you do want T3Code support, could you open an issue on GitHub? https://github.com/morsechimwai/agent-valley/issues That way I won't lose track of it.
@morsechimwai thanks! I will do it when I get the chance 🌟🌟
seeing which agent is waiting on me right from the notch sounds handy! does it play a sound when one gets stuck or just change the icon?
@neerajnathany Both. When one is waiting on you, a red number shows up next to the notch, its character waves, and it says what it needs, with a different line for running a command, editing a file or asking you something. It tells you when the work is done too. And if you hit your limit, the crew asks to take a break and goes fishing until it resets.
@morsechimwai A pixel crew that goes fishing when the limit hits is a fun touch :) If three agents are waiting at once, does the red number show 3?
@neerajnathany Yes, it shows 3. Every agent waiting on you counts, sub-agents too, across all your sessions. Open the panel and it says "3 need you" with each one listed, and clicking a row takes you straight to its terminal. In the next version it'll also show how long each one has been waiting.
would it see sessions running in a devcontainer? the status file would be inside the container i guess
@bbueno I don't think it does right now, you guessed right. Honestly, I don't really know devcontainers, sorry about that. But if you'd like to use it that way, I'll read up on it and see if I can make it work. If you open an issue on GitHub with how your setup looks, that would help a lot.
@morsechimwai fair enough, thanks Morse
Multi-agent runs feel like chaos until you can actually see what's waiting. The notch is a weird but perfect place for this.
@avinashbussa Thanks! That's what I love about the notch. Even with a movie or video playing full screen, you can still check how far your work has got.
