Agent First is an experimental, agent-first personal finance manager. You talk to an AI that can search, clean up, and batch-edit your transactions and accounts, with every change going through a reviewable change set. Today it ships with concrete widgets for accounts, transactions, and categories; the vision is generic widgets powered by flexible data queries so the agent can handle more of the work over time.

Hey everyone 👋
I built **Agent First** because most “AI money” tools are either:
* a chatbot bolted on top of rigid dashboards, or
* a black box that moves money around with very little control.
This is an **agent-first** experiment:
* You talk in plain language about your finances.
* The agent can create / update / delete transactions, accounts, and categories for you.
* Every change goes through a **change set** you can inspect, edit, or roll back before it touches your data.
What’s live today:
* Concrete widgets for accounts, transactions, categories, and credit card utilization
* Rich filters (date range, account, category, type, status)
* Multi-account and multi-currency support
* Agent-driven batch operations with a clear audit of what will happen
What I’m working toward:
* **Generic widgets** powered by a flexible data query layer, so the agent can build views and reports on the fly
* The agent handling more of the “boring” work: recurring cleanup, basic reports, and answering “what actually happened to my money?”
This is an early, evolving project. I’m literally spending real money on the agents behind this, so I’d love sharp feedback to steer it in the right direction.
**If you test it, here’s how to try it:**
1. Add or import a slice of your real transaction history.
2. Ask 3 questions you genuinely care about (e.g., “How much did I spend on food in the last 60 days across all cards?”).
3. Let the agent propose a few changes (categories, cleanups, etc.) and review the change set before applying.
I’d love to hear:
* Where does this break down vs your current system (Sheets, YNAB, Monarch, Copilot, Firefly, etc.)?
* What’s the one capability it would need for you to actually trust it with your day-to-day money management?
I’ll be in the comments shipping fixes and tweaks during launch day. Tear it apart. That’s the point. 🙃
