Hey! 👋 I'm Maze, the creator of WordDirectory - a tool I built out of pure frustration with dictionaries. **The Problem** We've all been there. You're reading something, come across a word you don't know, look it up... and the definition uses FIVE MORE words you don't understand. Then you're stuck in this weird dictionary rabbit hole, opening tab after tab, just to understand one damn sentence. It's 2025 - why are dictionaries still written like they're trying to confuse us? **The Solution** WordDirectory makes definitions actually make sense. I've created definitions written how you'd actually explain words to another human being - simple, clear, and without the academic jargon. What makes it special: • **Human-readable definitions** that don't require another dictionary • **Text-to-speech pronunciation** so you know exactly how to say it • **Beautiful imagery** from Unsplash that helps visualize concepts • **Chrome extension** that lets you define any word on any webpage with just a right-click. Bonus: type "[word] definition" in the search bar and it takes you straight to the definition. **How to use it** 1. Visit WordDirectory.app and search any word 2. Or install the Chrome extension 3. When browsing any website, just highlight a word, right-click, and select "Define with WordDirectory" 4. Type "[word] definition" in the search bar 4. Get instant definitions without losing your place or opening new tabs **Why I built this** I was tired of feeling stupid when looking up words. Dictionaries should help you understand things, not make you feel more confused. Words are meant to be accessible to everyone - not just academics or people who already know all the other fancy words used in definitions. I've been using this myself, and it's changed how I read online. I often read an article, don't understand a word, right-click it and get it right away. I'd love to hear your thoughts and what features would make this more useful for you! - Maze
