We recently realized we were falling into a classic vanity metric trap. We were getting thousands of visitors hitting our site, the analytics looked amazing, but our calendar was completely empty. Almost no one was actually booking a demo.
It s incredibly frustrating to see all that traffic bounce without taking the next step. I'm wondering who else here has faced this exact same issue?
It feels like there's a massive disconnect between optimizing for eyeballs and actually capturing intent. If you've been in this boat, how did you figure out where the drop-off was happening? Was it a messaging problem, a friction-heavy CTA, or were you just attracting the wrong kind of traffic altogether?
Would love to hear your experiences and how some of you managed to fix the leaks in your funnel.

@ralic Thanks Ivan, that means a lot coming from you 🙏
Page rules are not in the dashboard yet, but we're on it. It'll be in the next update, allow list and block list with wildcards, exactly as you wrote it.
How was the onboarding for you, smooth all the way through?
@ralic Dogan here, the other half of Widgo. Adding to Adam: your example went into the backlog exactly as you wrote it. Until it ships, a GTM trigger on page path gets you most of the way with no code. Glad the scan part landed, that one took us the longest to get right. :)

@doganakbulut @adamkamaneh great to hear that!
Generally onboarding is super smooth, it really is live in 5 minutes and that's amazing.
Yeah there were some scraping hiccups but I see the vision and a big picture and this product really is great.

Question from a bootstrapper :) how do you distinguish visitors vs bots / uninteresting users - be good to understand how much juice I can get from the free plan before needing to upgrade. Keen to give you a go!
@dawid_baranowski Fair question Dawid 🙏
Bots and crawlers get filtered before anything is counted, and the free plan puts a verify human step in front of the chat, so datacenter traffic never eats your quota.
Free is 500 sessions a month, no card. You'll see in the dashboard how fast you're actually burning it, so nothing surprises you before you decide to upgrade.
What kind of monthly traffic does Causo get?
Causo
@doganakbulut that makes good sense, thanks! Good to hear about the captcha :) We're at approx 3-4k traffic right now, so maybe could fit into the free tier (or you do such a good job that it pays for itself :) ) will give a spin!
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
In case the tool doesn't have the answer, is the visitor redirected to a person?
@busmark_w_nika Hi Nika,
Exactly, AI already builds strong knowledge about your company but if it doesn't know; always passes to humans. How many visitor do you have a month on your site?
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@adamkamaneh If you mean the site for my upcoming product SafeLimit – it is not ready yet :) so no stats for now :)
@busmark_w_nika The handoff carries the whole conversation with it, so your human picks up with full context instead of making the visitor repeat themselves. That was the piece we cared most about back when this was just an internal tool.
Faced same issue on my site. User read the whole page and then just leave. Hardly anyone touches and chat widget, I think users assume it is a contact form with extra steps.
Curious what it does when a user clearly isn't fit. Does is back off or going for the meeting?
@mayursojitra That "contact form in disguise" read is the real problem, Mayur. If the widget's opener is "how can I help you?", everyone knows it's a lead trap and scrolls past.
On disqualifying: it backs off. Wrong size, wrong region, student, competitor, it answers the question properly and stops there instead of angling for a meeting. Pushing a demo on a bad fit just burns the conversation and clogs the calendar.
What's the most common non-fit visitor on your site?
@mayursojitra What fixed it on our own site was the opener. When the first message references the page someone is actually reading, it stops looking like a form. Generic "how can I help you" is what trained everyone to ignore widgets in the first place.

looks really cool! What happens if the tool doesn't have the answer?
@louislecat Thanks Louis 🙏 It says it doesn't know rather than inventing something, then hands the visitor to your team.
The useful part is that every unanswered question gets logged, so you can see the gaps in your own site and fill them. Ours told us pretty quickly what our pricing page was missing.

@doganakbulut wow, really cool
@doganakbulut This looks fantastic and would make things much easier for sales and marketing. One question: will this help qualify leads?
@mehdihussen Thanks Mehdi 🙏
Qualifying is the main job. It scores every visitor 0 to 100 on fit and intent from your own criteria, so your team only sees the ones worth a call instead of a pile of raw chats.
Are you on the sales side or marketing?
Tiptap AI Agent
Where does the agent source the documentation from? What sources of documentation is it compatible with? And how does the agent identify that it's the right time to book a call?
@arnau_gomez_farell Good questions Arnau 🙏
Sources: it crawls your whole site on signup, then you can add anything else, docs pages, PDFs, help center, pricing sheets, whatever you have. It answers only from that and cites where the answer came from.
On timing: it doesn't push a call on message one. It books when the visitor is a fit and the signals are there, asking about pricing, integrations, or their own setup. Wrong fit or early browsing, it just answers and leaves them alone.
