Jim Morrison
Hi fellow hunters, πŸ‘‹ πŸ€“ I'm Jim, founder of twiDAQ - a massive, multiplayer fantasy stock market game based on Twitter influence. πŸ’– This game is my passion project. I've been working on it for a *long* time - and it's finally available to play online, on Android and on iPhone. I could not possibly be more excited to share it with you. 🎩 twiDAQ (as in twitter + NASDAQ) lets you buy fantasy shares in anyone you can find on Twitter... so that includes brands, TV shows, celebrities, politicians, your sporting heroes and even your closest friends. πŸ“ˆ Baseline twiDAQ share prices rise and fall according to how much a Twitter account's influence accelerates or slows. That gives us a foundation for the market. As more people start to trade a stock however, market forces take over and share prices of popular stocks can rise and fall rapidly from hour to hour. πŸ… Throughout the game you have a series of challenges to complete. First, these help you to find your feet. They help you understand how the game works. As you progress through five levels these challenges start to test your skill to the max!... and you'll be rewarded with badges to prove your trading prowess and special power-ups to give you an edge on the trading floor. πŸ† Every trader's basic stats are available to see so you can quickly rank your trading skills against the folks you already follow on Twitter. Each week we announce a gold, sliver and bronze trophy for the richest and best performing traders. 🌍 We run exchanges in Prague, London, New York, San Francisco and Sydney. They all share the same stock prices but knowing when the open & close bell is for your exchange is extremely important! ⏱ Normally the market is only open at your local exchange between 8am and 6pm. But YAY!... as a PH supporter you can trade out of hours, for free, 24/7 for three years - yes, three whole years! Just pop in the "PHLOVESTWIDAQ" code when you register! πŸ’° For everyone else, to trade out of hours requires a "Pro Trader" power-up worth $7.99/month... or, you can just stick to a "Promo" index. πŸ’œ A "Promo" allows us to give freemium players something to do out of hours - and it focuses volume and liquidity into small areas of the market. When a big TV show or sporting event happens we open up a special "Promo" index that lists the relevant Twitter accounts. Imagine an "Apprentice" index with the accounts of all the contestants, open for everyone, out of hours, while the show is on air. πŸ› As you move through the game you can work to become the CEO of your favourite stock, beating your friends to the post. You can earn a dividend from profitable stocks you hold onto (that is, stocks who's IRL influence continues to accelerate) and even earn a game-wage for just turning up to trade. We've loads more in the pipeline too - including πŸ“‰ short selling! Just don't short your boss and get caught! 😬 Like I say, this is massively a passion-project for me. We're a tiny team and things might be a bit rough around the edges but I really, really hope you enjoy the game we've created so far. I would love hear what you think! ✌️ Thanks for taking a look - shout with any questions.

Ah amazing to see the launch of twiDAQ. I’ve been following it’s development with great keenness and I’m delighted to finally have the app on my phone’s Home Screen. It’s a huge amount of fun, and I think that the payment model you’ve gone for is wholesome! Today feels like a good day to invest in some twiDAQ shares… :)
Jim Morrison
@peterlewis Thanks Peter! So thrilled to have you onboard and thank you so much for your feedback. I hear https://play.twidaq.com/producthunt might be a good tip for today! πŸ˜… πŸ“ˆ Happy trading!

I upvoted. But that is toooooo much permission for any app let alone a game. Too much. - Update your profile and account settings. - Post and delete Tweets for you, and engage with Tweets posted by others (Like, un-Like, or reply to a Tweet, Retweet, etc.) for you. - Create, manage, and delete Lists and collections for you. - Mute, block, and report accounts for you. - See your email address.
Jim Morrison
@daniel_obiokeke oh, I know! Thanks for raising this. It's really tricky because we can't pick & choose permissions or ask for more permissions later ... or even change the permissions we ask for. If it's helpful to know / for clarity: - We don't touch your profile (but we can't remove the permission) - We only ever post tweets and only when you tell us to, directly. It's part of the game that folks want a convenient way to share what they're trading - to encourage others to do the same! - We maintain a list for you, if you want, that reflects your portfolio - We don't do any blocking or things like that (but we can't remove the permission) - We only see your email when you sign up, and reflect it in the sign-up for you to edit. I wish we could add granular permissions as required (like iOS allows), but Twitter doesn't offer that flexibility yet. As a small team we're super privacy focused. For instance we've stripped out GA (for Plausible Analytics) and any 3rd party apps, trackers, pixels etc - even for our own ad campaigns... and we take the Twitter permissions with the same degree of caution. Nevertheless, I totally understand it's quite a lot to be faced with when you first sign up. 😳

Great to see the rebirth of TwiDAQ 🎩 πŸ“ˆ finally happening. Loved playing earlier versions of this game with co-workers; we had lots of fun competing to see who could make the most money on this fantasy stock exchange! Excited to see how things develop and the new features in development 🎲
Jim Morrison
Thanks @adaptuk0! Love that you remember seeing the old beta game. It's so exciting to finally have it live for the world to see & play!... and *finally* have apps in the Android & Apple AppStores! πŸš€
