Tonefold is a free, open-source AI music composer for macOS and Windows. Describe a song to Claude, get chords, melody, bass and drums in a piano roll you can edit note by note, then export MIDI, WAV and stems.
Everything I score has a fixed length first, a 30 is 30 and the end card is locked. Can you hand it a duration and have the form fit it?
Hey @justin_rockmore , yes, this is exactly the kind of thing I want it to handle.
Right now you'd just tell it the length. Something like "30 sec spot, end card is the last 4 seconds" and it picks a tempo and bar count that land right on 30. At 120 bpm that's 15 bars, and the end card ends up as the last 2. You can also lock the tempo and section lengths yourself first, and it won't move them unless you say so.
What's missing: there's no proper "duration" box yet, no hit points in the middle, no tempo changes and no video sync. That's a real gap for scoring and I'm going to fix it.
What do you usually need to hit besides the end card? Cuts, a logo reveal, VO lines?
