I've spent over five years working in risk and compliance in payments and the same problems kept coming up regardless of the size of the business. Merchants not knowing their chargeback ratio was approaching Visa's threshold until the formal letter arrived. PSPs carrying scheme liability for merchants they had no real-time visibility over. Rolling reserves sitting locked weeks past their release date because nobody had a system tracking the exact dates, just a spreadsheet someone updated occasionally. The frustrating part was that the data to catch all of this existed. Every acquirer produces settlement statements. Every MID has a chargeback ratio. Every reserve tranche has a contractual release date. The problem was never the data it was that there was nowhere to put it that would surface the right information at the right time and tell you what to do about it. ReconIQ started as a tool to solve that specifically. As I built it the scope grew naturally reconciliation alone wasn't enough, you need chargeback monitoring and reserve tracking alongside it or you're still missing most of the picture. The compliance officer mode came from real experience the person responsible for sign-off in most institutions has no clean view of portfolio-wide risk without someone manually pulling a report together for them. It's in beta and I'm building it based on real feedback from people in the industry.
