New productivity app by Microsoft. Seems like a lightweight version of Slack. You can read more by @sarahintampa here: https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/2...

This is not a Slack competitor. It is a workforce communications tool, like Zinc, Red E App, Sitrion One, and Avaamo. They have chat-like interfaces, but not like IRC chat; more like Whatsapp. These tools are targeted at companies with large deskless workforces -- people doing 'hard' work -- not the desk workers doing 'soft' work in the office.

Oh no, Google better build another messaging app to keep up with this! πŸ˜‚

Curious to see how this latest @slackhg challenger stacks up against @Ryverapp as well. Crowded space.

Interesting. When Microsoft isn't acquiring (and integrating) apps that are doing well (i.e. Sunrise -> Outlook), they seem to be replicating them (i.e. Microsoft Flow / Pix / Planner and now this one).

@sharifkhalladi Which is obviously the way to compete.
