Why not I start by telling you how PayShri was born? Trust me, it’s not boring, and this is just the first time I’m asking for your trust – but I assure you, it won’t be broken. The idea for PayShri sparked from a personal experience. I wanted to attend a Diljit Dosanjh concert in Mumbai, but without a ticket, I turned to a Facebook group where people often resell tickets. I had previously bought gym memberships and OTT subscriptions online without any issues, so my guard was down. Confident in my track record, I paid the seller, within a minute I realised I got scammed as he blocked me instantly The shock was real. I couldn't believe it had happened to me, someone who had always assumed such scams only targeted the naive. It made me rethink the way online transactions work. Why isn’t there a reliable middleman to secure both parties? Someone to ensure that if I, as a buyer, make a genuine payment, I either receive the product or get my money back. That’s when I discovered the concept of “escrow” – a trusted third party that holds funds until the transaction terms are met. While there is a company called "escrow" outside India, I realized there is a need of such service in India as everyday peer-to-peer and B2C transactions also needed this level of protection. And that’s how PayShri was born – a mission to eliminate online scams, secure transactions for everyone, and make life difficult for scammers. PayShri aims to be the trusted middleman, protecting not just businesses but also individuals in their everyday online deals.
