MyBookCove is designed as a complete one-year membership rather than a subscription with different tiers. I'm Jim, the founder of MyBookCove.
For many years I wrote stories on my personal blog, JimboRed, about family, travel, adventures, and the ordinary moments that become extraordinary memories with time. Through those years of writing, I realized something that stayed with me: almost everyone has a story worth preserving, but most people never write it because they don't think they're a writer or don't know where to begin.
That realization became MyBookCove.
My goal wasn't to build another AI writing tool. I wanted to create a place where anyone—especially those with no writing experience—could preserve their life story in their own words. MyBookCove gently guides members with thoughtful interview questions, then uses AI to help organize and shape those memories into a beautifully written memoir while preserving each person's own voice.
Building MyBookCove has been one of the most rewarding projects of my life. As an independent founder, I learned technologies I had never imagined using and worked with an incredible ecosystem of tools that helped transform an idea into a production application. Today, seeing MyBookCove live and ready for others to use is both exciting and deeply rewarding.

@jim_heald Congratulations on the launch! You asked what would raise confidence. I would check the export first. If I stop paying, or the site is gone in ten years, is there a file I keep?
@alieksia Membership is for one year and can be renewed at that point, if your story is not yet complete. You decide the point when your writing is finished. At the time when your membership term completes, or your book is complete you own all of the deliverables that are included with membership. At any point where, for whatever reason, your membership is completed, you own, and will have each and every deliverable exported and transferred to your private and personal storage choice or device. A quick update since our original launch.
Today, MyBookCove took a major step forward. Anyone can now create their first memoir chapter completely free—no writing experience required.
One thing we learned after launching was that asking people to purchase before they experienced the app created too much hesitation.
We decided the best way to demonstrate MyBookCove was to let everyone create their first memoir chapter free.
