Most travel and housing platforms only show you photos and location. Moldmap helps you understand whether a place will actually support your health. Discover better hotels, vacation rentals, and housing using human reviews, owner verification, and environmental data. Filter by carpet-free, fragrance-free, HEPA & more. Whether you’re highly sensitive to mold, chemicals, or fragrances--or you simply want a healthier place to stay or live--Moldmap helps you make more confident decisions.

@justincarlson My name is Valentina. I am 19 years old and have been dealing with mold illness for 6 years now. I have done countless protocols and diets; none have worked because the foremost and most important piece has been missing: a mold safe place. I've travelled around more than 3 countries and several cities looking for one but haven't found ay because of very high sensitivity. In short periods of lower mold exposure I have seen my body's amazing ability to heal (I was in Vail during peak snowing season and my improvement was impressive). But I haven't found housing mold-safe enough to carry a protocol through without reacting or finally having some peace. VOC's are so important too for mold illness and mcas. lTo me a very important part is hearing other mold illness or mcas people's experience in places, feeling some confidence that if it worked for someone else in my situation, it might work for me. A great issue is that places for lease, hotels, and any short term stay is poorply mantained because all interest goes into visuals, making a safe place even harder to find. Information that would help me feel confidet about a place would be year built (not remodeled but actually built from 0), materials and material quality used (drywall? concrete? brick? etc etc), leaks history, SURROUNDINGS! is it near a factory or data center for example? is it near any sort of place with an industrial process. Other's experience. This app is truly a beacon of hope to me and I believe many in the chronic illness community. I hope it is done with true information and corroboration of spaces being actually helpful. Thank you for what you are doing.
@valentina_de_los_cobos Valentina, thank you so much for taking the time to write this. ❤️
I’m truly sorry you’ve had to go through this, especially at such a young age. Your experience is, unfortunately, one I’ve heard from many people in this community. Finding a place where your body can finally begin to heal can feel like an impossible challenge.
Everything you mentioned--building age, construction materials, leak history, surrounding environmental factors, and, especially, the experiences of others with mold illness and MCAS--is exactly the direction we’re working toward.
Our goal isn’t just to create another map of places; it’s to build the world’s most comprehensive environmental intelligence platform for healthier living, combining objective environmental data with community knowledge.
I also appreciate your emphasis on accuracy and corroboration. That’s incredibly important to us. We want people to have access to meaningful information that helps them make more informed decisions, while continuing to improve the platform over time.
Comments like yours help shape what Moldmap becomes, so thank you for sharing your story and your ideas. I genuinely hope we can build something that makes this search a little easier for you and for so many others facing similar challenges.

Hi Product Hunt,
I’m Mikey, co-founder and CTO of Moldmap.
My background is in data science, ecology, and AI/software development. Moldmap is exciting to me because it brings those pieces together: how do we help people find healthier places to live and stay?
We’re combining community reports, building context, environmental risk factors, and AI-powered insights to make housing and travel decisions more informed.
We’re still early, so we’d love feedback from the Product Hunt community: what information would make you trust a place before booking or moving in, and what would make the app more useful for you?
Thanks!
Mikey

@valentina_de_los_cobos Thank you for sharing your experience. Moldmap is designed for people like you. We're hoping to build a supportive community that can help each other find locations that are safe and will not cause respiratory issues.
We are also incorporating as much environmental information as we can regarding the surroundings of the hotels/houses.
I hope you'll find the Moldmap community welcoming and helpful in your journey. If you're considering a premium membership, consider taking advantage of the PRODUCTHUNT discount code, which will save you 35% on the cost.
