I am super stoked to reveal Indie Deals finally after a year, read on for a bit of a background.
As a solo nocode-maker who has launched a couple of free and paid products, was wondering why there isn't a discovery platform for products built by only Indie makers and that allows any new maker to share their product and earn their first internet $$.
I wanted it to be a simple, straight forward and friction-less platform where the maker submits the product, and visitors discover it at an irresistible price. This not only supports the maker on their indie journey but the user gets access to the product at a never-again price.
This thought evolved into a crazy search of suitable brands names which resulted in this side-project in 2022 with a simply name and a fancy domain called Indie.Deals. If you thought the term "Deals" is sale-sy, you are wrong like I was before deciding to go ahead with this name ;)
Now after close to a year since the launch, I am super pumped to finally reveal it to the Product Hunt Community and the other indie makers here.

Quick question: What inspired you the most during the crazy search for suitable brand names, and how has the Indie.Deals community evolved since its launch almost a year ago?

I never had plans to make this a separate product, instead I wanted to make this part of "Shape N Ship" but I thought it would be problem to position and promote hence the research to find a suitable name. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price for the domain but good things aren't easy so it was a bit of a challenge and took a bit of self-convincing before I decided to invest in the name.
The community is still in its nascent phase, mostly new makers. While the visitors are from Reddit, Twitter, IH and PH. Tapping into non-traditional social platforms to nurture more members.
@adithya Another gem launching on the weekend and I won't stop talking about it on socials. I love the name you've got and I am sure this came up with the experience of building and launching multiple products. Kudos to your efforts. I was very interested in Nocode when it came out and then couldn't really do much around that, I did empower a lot of people to do some serious work there and some of them have done that remarkably well.

Due to the discovery Indie.Deals has, creators and devs are allowed to directly submit their products. There is one layer of check to avoid any scammy deals.
Here are different kind of products that you can find:
1) Developer tools.
2) Desktop/Mobile Apps.
3) Creator Templates - say for example by Notion creators.
And others covering 10+ categories. As this grows, planning to implement better ways of discovery with suitable filters.
