๐ I am excited to hunt Google Chromeโs brand-new AI features!
Chrome is evolving from just a browser into a true AI-powered assistant โ with Gemini deeply integrated to make browsing smarter, safer, and more productive.
Hereโs whatโs new:
Gemini in Chrome โ Get instant summaries of complex pages and answers without leaving your tab.
Context across tabs โ Compare content across multiple tabs, plan trips, or research faster.
Agentic browsing โ Ask Gemini to complete tasks for you like booking, shopping, and filling forms.
Recall past webpages โ Just ask โwhat was that site I saw last weekโฆโ and Chrome will find it.
Deeper Google integration โ Use Calendar, Maps, YouTube, and more without leaving your current page.
AI-powered Omnibox โ Search from the address bar using natural, conversational queries.
Page-specific questions โ Ask questions about the page youโre on and get quick AI overviews.
Built-in scam detection (Gemini Nano) โ Detects fake support scams, giveaways, and malicious popups.
Blocks spammy notifications โ Chrome now detects and suppresses scammy or spammy notifications.
Smarter permissions โ Predicts your preferences to handle location/camera requests less intrusively.
One-click password changes โ Instantly update compromised passwords on supported sites.
This is a major leap forward โ turning Chrome into an AI copilot for everything you do on the web.
Canโt wait to see how this transforms everyday browsing! ๐ป

Very curious how this will impact Perplexity Comet; where will the Chromium project end and Google's Gemini AI services begin? Will Chromium offer pluggable APIs to connect to local LLMs for example?
@by_technologyย +1 - we're both the best ones and the last ones (to use new products / features) ๐

Love the versatility hereโit can be applied to so many different contexts.

I've been using Chrome for over a decade and have watched its updates over time. I plan to continue using it.
This finally arrived in Canada. ๐
Hardware and software requirements are slightly less strict than Atlas, so I was able to run it on a Windows 10 VM but not on MacOS Monterey. The last macOS cutoff transition for Chrome compatibility was September when Monterey became the minimum, and even though the next cutoff is June 2026, this Gemini in Chrome minimum macOS requirement makes the March 2026 Canada rollout an earlier cutoff.
