What do you think? …

Jamie Toyne
Chuffed to introduce our newly designed platform and get your feedback! Dealflow is building a powerful network of investors and entrepreneurs, as the leading destination to buy and sell online companies in the $100,000 - $20M range. With our new platform, investors can create a profile detailing the types of companies they are looking to acquire, which our deal-sourcing system will keep on file and automatically match with active listings, off-market deals, and pre-market opportunities. We have also raised the bar with respect to the data protection and security of entrepreneurs and their companies; by adding a one-time ID verification requirement, which investors must satisfy before they are able to access information on the companies we have listed for sale. I’m curious to know what you think! Happy to answer any questions about the new site design, platform features, or our M&A services :)

@jamie_toyne This seems really interesting. I was wondering why someone hadn't build that earlier ;-) I will send 2 companies your way soon as they're reaching a stage where they want to sell for <1M.

Awesome product, love the look of the interface.... not sure how I feel about facial recognition technology? Seems to be the way everyone is heading but how necessary is it?
Jamie Toyne
@emma_white Answer: Cheers Emma! Great questions. Great question Emma! Is is it necessary? We believe so, yes. The biggest risk associated with listing an online business for sale is that of proprietary information being leaked or accessed by existing competitors and new entrants. The result can not only hurt the chances of a successful exit, but have a damaging impact on the business’ ongoing performance. Whilst NDA’s are still a valid means of protection, they are effectively mute and unenforceable if any Tom, Dick and Harry can sign one and gain access. By having solid, verifiable information on every person within our network, we have have a lot more control over confidentiality and compliance. We license a technology from a GDPR compliant 3rd party identity verification company. Do we have another verification option? Yes! Understandably, not everyone is comfortable uploading their personal details onto a 3rd party platform in order to verify themselves. This why we offer video conference interviews, where users can connect with a member of the Dealflow team and manually identify their identity. This can be a great opportunity to ask any questions and discuss your acquisition goals!

I've been fortunate to work with the team at Dealflow for nearly two years now. I recommend them to anyone who is looking to buy or sell an online business with real value.

Pros:

Skilled team, high integrity. You can expect your exit or acquisition to be handled by true professionals who understand online business.

Cons:

It's a relatively new brokerage and, as such, their network is naturally focused on quality while quantity catches up.

I'm curious: How reputable are both the buyers and sellers on Dealflow?

Hey @mbodulow There are two questions, so let’s tackle them separately. Buyers - as @jamie_toyne covered above, we are the first internet M&A firm to introduce mandatory identity verification, which all users must satisfy before they can access the businesses we have listed for sale. Our goal is to keep tire kickers and information gatherers at the door, while only allowing in a group of qualified investors serious about making web based acquisitions. Our new platform also tracks buyer activity, so it is relatively easy for us to detect if a buyer starts behaving suspiciously. Sellers - we heavily vet and qualify each business we list for sale, as well each respective business owner. This includes revenue verification (bank records, tax returns, etc.) and access to analytics data, as well as subjecting the business to many other due diligence checks and forms of analysis. That said, it is on the onus of the buyer to complete their own due diligence before committing to an acquisition. But to answer your question, we are very selective about the businesses we represent and the people we work with, and we only put our brand backing behind businesses we truly believe are high-quality acquisition opportunities.

@mbodulow I'd sold a business using DealFlow in the past and the experience went really well.
