Exactly what the world needs - less online distractions and more awareness of where we spend our precious time!
Tom Calabrese
I agree @courtenay_wheeler! And less apps focused on taking our time and attention.
Kevin McAlear
@courtenay_wheeler Thank you! We hope the app can help you feel a little better about who and what gets your attention. ❤️

Hey everyone! @kevinmcalear and I launched our app, Channel, a little over a year ago, and we're finally ready to share it with everyone on Product Hunt! 🌧 The problem We're spending too much time on our phones. Phones used to be tools, but nowadays they act more like pocket casinos with pings, notifications, and infinite scroll keeping us in apps longer than we intended. We all have experienced this problem - at least I sure have! You can spend just a few minutes Googling different ways of making your phone less distracting, but you'll quickly realize that you either need to know how to code or start a part-time job installing various browser extensions, content blockers, etc. ☂️ The solution Introducing Channel, the end of all distractions. Just kidding. However, we did build a tool to easily remove distracting features from popular apps. Keep the parts you like, remove the parts you don't! - Turn off distracting features: auto-play videos, news feeds, notifications, and more - Support popular apps: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and a couple more - Use a combination of Safari content blockers and account-wide enchantments to remove distracting features - Provide a secure experience - we don't store or want to store your information - one of our eight promises 🌈 What's next - Launch an Android app - ahem... sign up to get notified about Android - Build a desktop app so you can easily sync all your enchantments from device-to-device - Support more apps and enchantments - Try to figure out how to make money 🤷🏻‍♂️ by providing people value but without advertising, venture capital, or ever selling your data - Take the day off tomorrow to relax 🌴 📝 Feedback from you - Which apps would you like to see supported? - What enchantment types would you like to see built? - Why would or wouldn't you use our app? Thank you for your support and attention!

Gave the app a spin and I'm a fan. Clean and simple de-cluttering -- Promises made, promises kept. Looking forward to future app integrations as they roll out.

We don't like when companies track us so we try and do as little as needed in order to make Channel work. Shout out to Retool for a simple internal tool manager and Plausible Analytics for privacy focused analytics.
