    Pros:

    Love the fact that I can quickly select on a brand name with the logo.

    Cons:

    They could probably display the brand username availability on social media websites too.

    I love Brandpa! This is an extremely neat marketplace and has huge potential to grow.

When cybersquatting meets design.

@alexanderisora how is this cybersquatting?
Alexander Isora 🔥@alexanderisora · ProductHunt virus
Hi, @oren. Cybersquatting is registering a name with a purpose of reselling it at a profit. This is what Brandpa all about. Plus a bit of design 🤔

@alexanderisora pretty sure it's registering the names of well known brands. I don't think the intention here is to defraud anyone.
Oren@oren · Biz Dev, Zeta Interactive
@alexanderisora no. Cybersquatting is "registering, trafficking in, or using an Internet domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else." These are not registered in bad faith, not trademarked terms and don't belong to anyone except for the registered owner who is offering to sell them.

@oren If someone is registering domains not for their own use, but to sit on them until someone comes along who has an actual use for the domain so that they can charge them a premium that sounds like cybersquatting to me. If they were actually using these domains I would agree with you sure, but justifying it by acting like what they're doing is better than what anyone else is doing just sounds like an excuse.

Thanks @oliveremberton and hello Product Hunters! We were tired of trying to find decent domain names for our startups. So we created a marketplace that specialises in them. Brandpa is a place where you can find a registered domain name that compliments your business. The website includes domains from over 30 industries, for instance tech, education, finance, healthcare. Each domain comes with a matching logo and banners that help you visualise your brand on desktop, mobile and stationery. We built Brandpa because we thought it'd be useful to have a place where you can get a business name quickly whilst building your startup at the same time 😃 Would love to hear your thoughts! Happy exploring! 😃

could you disclose how many names you sold via Brandpa?

This is cool. Feels rather expensive at first sight, but when I think of it, having all this custom made takes a lot of TIME and you pay the money anyway, so this might be a wise choice. Let alone most branding agencies will come up with tons of nonsense explanation about how the brand their designed expresses this and that, to justify the crazy price, when it's really just about good looking, simple, memorable name+logo. Thumbs up from me.

But, if you are bootstrapping I doubt this makes sense. Simply get a good-ish domain and hack together a logo?

Hi. So after asking this question, I wondered how all of this worked. I bought the cheapest domain to learn about this process. I am impressed with the level of support and professionalism at Brandpa.

I like how you aren't just buying a domain name, but also other brand assets such as the logo and banners. This allows you to save time and hassle and focus on growing your website/startup.
