I stumbled across an old journal entry I wrote on my birthday back in 2020. Reading those words from past-me hit differently. I'd forgotten some small moments that seemed important then, and it was wild reading which goals I'd achieved without fully realizing it.
That experience sparked Birthday Vault. I wanted to create something that captures that feeling of connecting with your past self, but in a way that doesn't require keeping up with daily journaling (which I'm terrible at, honestly).
The once-a-year format is way more manageable and is just enough for reflection to be meaningful without becoming another obligation.
