Hey ProductHunt 👋,
I'm Michael, I created this product to solve my own problem. I love listening to high-quality audiobooks when I'm outside on a walk, biking or at the gym 🏔️.
I bought Pieter Level's book Make, which I really wanted to listen to, sadly there was no audiobook. Initially,I tried to listen to it using iPhone's native text-to-speech tool. But it didn't work and even if it did, the audio quality would be horrible and robotic 🤖.
I tried a few other tools, but they were always too expensive, complex or both.
So, I decided to try creating the audio myself with a few AI tools I've been playing around with. It worked better than I expected. The next day, I was listening to an hour-long chapter from the book at the gym, and it was delightful! 😊
I posted about it on X and LInkedin and a lot of my friends liked it and wanted it too. So I decided to build it as a product.
After a few weeks of testing, I am delighted to share it with you in the hope it will make your Spring and Summer better ☀️.
This is meant for listener who are Developers, Designers and Founders. It is ideal for non-fiction content and learning new things.
If you are an author or content creators, I would love to talk to you about your needs. I'm thinking of building another tool just for you (hit reply below and let me know).
It is still very early days, so there are plenty of things to improve. I would love to hear your honest feedback below, over a DM, or in any other way that works for you 😊.
Thanks, friends 🤗
Awesome product, Michael! Congrats on the launch 🥳 there are many times when I'm on the go where I prefer to listen to content or don't have my hands free - the perfect time for AudiowaveAI 🔥
@fscholz Love it! What is going to be your summer activity this year? 😊 I've done 2 hours of biking 🚴♂️ to test it. I think I'll need to do longer testing soon 🤣
@michael_yagudaev I go for long runs a lot and these are the perfect times for audio content 😄

Congrats on the launch @michael_yagudaev! Super impressed with the generated audio quality. It's like listening to an audiobook narrated by a real person but for literally any content. This unlocks a whole new way to stay up-to-date and continue learning on the go - on your commute, running errands, or best of all, in the sun! ☀️
@jvaill Thanks so much Justin 😊. This moments in the sun are especially important for creators like us in a rainy city where it is rare, but heavenly everytime. ☀️ Can't wait to see how this will help you grow 🌱
@michael_yagudaev congrats on the launch! I really believe text to speach AI stuff is what needs the most improvement at the moment to bring it to another levels. Thanks for the product!
@paul_shuteyev thank you so much Paul 🙏. I 100% agree with that, I've done a deep comparison on the different APIs for sound here: https://github.com/yagudaev/tts-... -- I'm especially excited about the potential of open source in the space. It is still not quite there, but hope to see a Stable Diffusion like company there. Myshell is by far the closest

@michael_yagudaev Thanks for the comparison table. What service are you using in AudiowaveAI?
Great idea Mike! Loved how you can see ahead of time how much it will cost to process each file! This product could use an offline-first mobile app that allows you to download your processed files to hear offline ;)
@mauro_garcia1 Thanks Mauro 😊. I changed this slightly with credits now, so curious what you think. I wanted to make it easier for new users, but might need to iterate again to make it more clear what credits mean.
Great idea on the mobile app! I actually created this as a PWA right now, it is very basic and allows you to save it to start with -- didn't want to go through the app store just yet and wanted to reuse the mobile web functionality.
I'd be curious your thoughts on the order of creating these apps. I'm pretty sure PWA can work offline first too
@michael_yagudaev definitely you can test the idea with the PWA. You can store things offline without any problem! Having to deal with the stores and the slow update flow is a big pain. Eventually it would be cool to have the native app but just if it's really neccesary.
About the credits thing, I think its great. Maybe you can find a formula to communicate how much you can create with $5, $10, $20 so people can have a sense of how to spend.
