I built Step Journey to make step counting actually fun.
Two months ago, my doctor suggested I start walking daily for my mental health. Easy enough, I thought. I downloaded a few step-counter apps and headed outside.
But most days I fell short of 10 K steps, and even when I hit my goal, the plain screen showing just numbers felt flat. No dopamine hit, no feeling of "Yes, I did it!"
So I decided to build the step-tracking app I needed. Instead of just a basic number, Step Journey gives you a daily cultural postcard hidden behind a silhouette:
How it works:
- A new postcard every day — each morning you see only a greyed-out shape.
- Your steps reveal the picture — as you walk, the image gradually appears.
- Goal reached, card unlocked — hit 10 K steps, reveal the complete postcard, and save it to your journey collection.
It made a noticeable difference—I found myself actually looking forward to finishing my steps, just to see the postcard fully revealed. It worked so well for me, I polished it up and shipped Step Journey.

I am a huge 10k steps per day fan. Im doing it for quite a while now. You app kinda refresh the way of viewing the step challenge. Love the interface and everything. The only downside for me which is my question, do you planned to add a widget for IOS? And second one, I love that you give us the option to go for 1 years to 9.99 or 3.99, do you planned to go with a lifetime price?

@pratikindieSuch a cute concept, the app design is clean, and the postcard feature adds that gentle charm... kinda reminds of a game where every level I conquered there's a trivia at the end. But yeah, literally, stepping up the game! 😉

Are there future plans to personalize the postcards based on user interests or locations?

@shahriardgm For now, we haven’t planned personalization based on location or interests. We wanted to keep the experience surprise-based—like a daily discovery of cultures from around the world. But in the future, we might explore ways to offer both: surprise-based postcards and an option for personalized ones, so users can choose what they enjoy more 🙂
