One of the reasons we built DaytaBrain was something I kept experiencing throughout my career in project management.
So much time goes into gathering updates, reviewing spreadsheets, tracking KPIs, preparing reports, and trying to understand whether projects and strategic initiatives are actually moving the business forward. Our research with 20 senior leaders across eight countries found that participants reported spending 20 60 hours per reporting cycle on manual monitoring and reporting activities.
But the bigger issue wasn't just the time. It was that organizations could still struggle to recognize when their initiatives were drifting away from their intended outcomes. I'd love to hear from project managers, Chiefs of Staff, operations leaders, and entrepreneurs:
Hi Product Hunt! š
I'm Caran, founder of DaytaBrain.
After years of managing technology projects and strategic initiatives, I kept coming back to one question: Why do we spend so much time reporting on progress, yet still struggle to understand whether the work is moving the business forward?
Project managers, Chiefs of Staff, and operations leaders spend hours gathering updates, reviewing KPIs, preparing reports, and connecting information from different places.
I wanted to understand how widespread that problem was.
So I conducted research with 20 senior leaders across eight countries. The findings, published in PM World Journal as The Signal Gap, highlighted the time spent on manual reporting and the difficulty of recognizing initiative drift before it becomes a larger problem.
That research helped shape DaytaBrain.
DaytaBrain connects strategic initiatives to their KPIs, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and decisions. It analyzes performance to help leadership understand what's changing, why it matters, and what decisions deserve attention.
With DaytaBrain, you can:
Define an initiative and the outcomes you're trying to achieve.
Upload existing KPI data and track performance against baselines and targets.
Connect assumptions to the measures that matter.
Identify performance drift, risks, and dependencies.
Generate AI-powered analysis and leadership-ready recommendations.
Record decisions, track outcomes, and review your portfolio.
You don't need to write AI prompts or replace your existing project management tools.
We're opening access with a 30-day free trial for up to two initiatives.
What I'd love most is for someone responsible for a real initiative to try DaytaBrain and tell us whether the analysis gives them clarity they weren't getting from their existing reporting.
Thanks for being part of our launch!

Another thing I'd encourage anyone trying DaytaBrain to do:
Don't just explore the dashboard. Bring an actual initiative you're responsible for. It could be a business expansion, operational improvement, technology implementation, or another strategic priority. Set up the initiative, add your KPIs and assumptions, upload performance data, and run the analysis. Then look at what DaytaBrain surfaces. Does it identify performance changes worth investigating? Does it help connect the numbers to your original assumptions? Does it give you a clearer understanding of where leadership attention may be needed? That's the experience we're trying to create and if something doesn't make sense, isn't useful, or could work better, I want to hear that too. We're at the stage where feedback from real organizations matters more than anything.
