Are you spending more time reporting on progress than actually moving work forward?
One of the reasons we built DaytaBrain was something I kept experiencing throughout my career in project management.
So much time goes into gathering updates, reviewing spreadsheets, tracking KPIs, preparing reports, and trying to understand whether projects and strategic initiatives are actually moving the business forward. Our research with 20 senior leaders across eight countries found that participants reported spending 20–60 hours per reporting cycle on manual monitoring and reporting activities.
But the bigger issue wasn't just the time. It was that organizations could still struggle to recognize when their initiatives were drifting away from their intended outcomes. I'd love to hear from project managers, Chiefs of Staff, operations leaders, and entrepreneurs:
What's the hardest part of understanding how your business or initiatives are performing? Is it gathering the information, connecting it across different tools, understanding what the numbers mean, or getting leadership to act on what the information reveals? We're building DaytaBrain to help close that gap, and your experiences will help us understand where the biggest challenges remain.
