Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I will get right into it.
I am a developer, not an influencer, and I am tired of the marketing grind being the deciding factor in which products succeed. I want to compete on ideas and software quality, not marketing capabilities, and I know a lot of other developers feel the same way.
If you're a solo founder or a small team, getting real people to try your product, actually understand what it does, and give you honest feedback quickly enough to decide whether it's worth pursuing is incredibly difficult. Organic marketing has become exhausting, and paid ads guarantee reach, not that anyone will actually engage with or understand your product. Some products need more than a few seconds to show their value, and those are often the ones that never get a fair chance.
That's why I'm building FindEarlyAdopters platform.
The idea is straightforward: instead of paying to get your product in front of people and hoping they engage, you directly pay your potential users for their time to actually try your product, complete a task that highlights its core feature, and give you feedback. You can also have a conversation with a potential customer, demo the product live, or let users explore your demo or landing page and tell you how it lands.
I want founders to be able to validate their ideas and get their first customers without having to master marketing first or spend a fortune doing it. Ideally, you should be able to find out whether the product you're building is actually useful before fully committing to it.
There are already user-testing platforms, so why build another one? I think there's a gap in the market.
Traditional user-testing platforms solve a different problem and are primarily built around the needs of established companies with UX research teams, structured research processes, and recruitment infrastructure. The product is the complex research and recruitment infrastructure they offer to aid the research process, and while those services have their place, a solo founder who just wants to validate an idea on a small budget doesn't need all that infrastructure for complex research. What they need is easy access to potential users to validate demand.
On the other end, platforms like Swagbucks, which are similar to this, are basically engagement farms, which have the goal of keeping users on the platform as long as possible, completing high-volume, low-effort tasks like watching videos, clicking ads, and filling out demographic surveys. The tasks exist to serve advertisers who want impressions and data, not founders who want genuine product feedback.
FindEarlyAdopter is about paying for meaningful product engagement, not just clicks, impressions, or task completion for its own sake to boost engagement to game algorithms or other indirect use cases.
Of course, paying people to try a product creates its own set of problems, with the major one being "How do you prevent people from simply chasing the payout without genuinely engaging?" My approach is to tie users' earning potential and future access to campaigns to their engagement quality and conversion, so users who consistently provide value have more opportunities.
I'm also exploring transparent, real-currency, per-minute pricing, with rates that can vary by region. The goal is to make the platform affordable enough for founders to validate a product without a huge budget, while making the compensation worthwhile for users. I haven't fully figured out the pricing yet, and I want the market to help determine it.
I'm still in the validation stage myself. The landing page is what I've built so far, and I'm trying to find out whether other founders feel this pain before building the full platform. I want this product for myself, too, because I have other ideas I'd like to validate without going through the same marketing grind every time.
I know a product like this raises a lot of reasonable questions about incentives, feedback quality, pricing, and whether it can actually work. I've addressed the concerns I could anticipate on the landing page, so please check it out: https://findearlyadopters.com/
I'd genuinely like to hear what you think. Is this a problem worth solving, or am I trying to solve something that founders just have to accept as part of building a product?
And if you're an early adopter, would getting paid to try interesting new products and give honest feedback be something you'd actually want to do?
Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
