The idea for this product started during my own Master's degree.

Analysing several studies or transcripts during my literature review was one of the most time-consuming tasks I had to perform. Reading through studies multiple times, highlighting sections, generating codes, identifying patterns and developing themes took a lot of time. While this process was valuable, it was also slow and mentally exhausting.

As AI became more capable, I decided to explore a question:

Could AI help researchers move through qualitative data faster while still keeping them connected to the evidence behind the analysis?

That question became thematicanalysis.ai.

It is a simple tool that allows researchers to upload their sources, which could be interview transcripts or research papers. AI then auto-codes each source and generates themes, which the researcher can trace back to the original sources, manually edit, and then export their results.

Existing tools such as NVivo are powerful, but they can be expensive, have largely manual workflows, and come with a steep learning curve. The goal of thematicanalysis.ai is to reduce some of the heavy, repetitive work, so researchers can spend more time thinking, interpreting and making sense of their findings.

It is free for up to 3 sources. The full project option is there when you need to analyse more studies.

This is still early, and I’m launching on Product Hunt because I want honest feedback from people who actually understand this problem.
