Hi everyone, Roland here. I build websites for a living, which means I record a lot of demos and walkthroughs for clients. My workflow was always the same mess: record in OBS, drag the file into a video editor, spend forty minutes adding zooms so people would actually watch it, then export and start again because I noticed a typo on screen. Screen Studio solved this beautifully on Mac. On Windows there was nothing like it, and the feature request for a Windows version has been sitting open for three years. So I built Rackast. You record, and the editor is already there in the same window. Zoom keyframes, cursor restyling, blur, arrows, and captions generated by Whisper running locally on your machine. That last part matters to me: nothing gets uploaded, and there is no second AI subscription on top. It is free to use. Exports carry a small watermark, and a license removes it and unlocks the rest. This is my first real product after years of client work, so I would love to hear where it breaks. Especially curious what people currently use on Windows and what made you stick with it.
