ZeroServer.tools 2.0 - 978 dev tools with no server to send your data to

by•
Last time this launched here it was seven tools. It's 978 now - every page rewritten with real use cases, the errors people actually hit, and FAQs; 53 with long-form worked examples; plus 69 technical guides. And I measured 28 popular online tools to see which upload what you paste: 2 of 15 paste tools did, 3 of 5 file tools did. ZeroServer has no backend to send anything to. Free, no signup, no ad network.

Hey Product Hunt - I'm Meet Shah, the solo dev behind this. When ZeroServer launched here in May it was seven tools. It's 978 now - but the count isn't the part I'd most like reviewed. I kept pasting JWTs and config into online formatters and realised I couldn't tell which ones were shipping it to a server. A client-side tool and a server-side one look identical: a box, a button, a result. So I measured it. 28 popular online tools, driven in real Chromium with a unique marker buried in the payload, every request recorded - URL, body, headers, WebSocket frames - and searched for that marker in seven encodings, including Base64 at all three byte alignments. That last part matters: a plain text search finds 0 of 18 uploads that are provably sitting in the body; the full search finds 18 of 18. Of the 15 paste tools that gave a conclusive answer, 2 uploaded what I typed. Of the 5 file tools, 3 did. Ask for a file instead of a paste and the odds flip. The result I didn't expect: every explicit privacy claim in the sample was true. Nobody was caught lying. The gap is silence - 10 of 15 say nothing about where your input goes, and both uploaders are in that group. ZeroServer is the other half: 978 utilities with no backend to send anything to. To be precise rather than flattering - requests DO appear in your Network panel: Cloudflare's page-performance analytics and its bot check. Their payload is the page URL, the referrer and load timings, never the contents of the box. My own pages claimed that panel stayed empty until the harness caught it, and I corrected six of them. Free, no signup, no ad network - one affiliate link and one sponsor slot in the sidebar is the whole business model. I'd love feedback, especially on tool quality and whether the privacy framing reads as honest rather than marketing. Not asking for upvotes; I'd rather have the criticism. The study:
