Introducing Zentro IDE v0.9.0
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm the solo developer behind Zentro IDE. I started building it after one too many close calls where my SQL client looked identical whether I was connected to local, staging or production.
Zentro is built around projects. Each project binds to Dev, Staging and Production environments. The UI is color-coded per environment (blue / yellow / red), and write statements on production need an explicit confirmation. There's also a local audit log, automatic schema snapshots before DDL changes, and ERDs generated from your live schema.
What's new in v0.9 (shipped yesterday):
- Live SQL diagnostics: unknown columns and ambiguous references are flagged as you type, with one-click fixes
- Smarter completion: dialect-aware, alias-qualified, and it suggests FK-related columns along with the JOIN to reach them
- Safer deletes: see which tables reference a row, and inspect those rows before confirming
- Native installers for Linux (.deb / .rpm / AppImage) and macOS (.pkg), both with auto-update
The Free tier covers daily work and includes the core safety guardrails. Pro adds stricter enforcement (type-to-confirm, cooldown, reason field), schema rollback, PII blur, app lock and query statistics. Pro is currently in early access.
I'd really value your feedback, especially on what your current SQL client gets wrong. I read every comment.
