YouTube Home Blocker - Block only the YouTube feed, keep the rest usable

by
Open YouTube to watch one thing, lose 30 minutes to the feed? This redirects the YouTube homepage to any URL you pick (default: your Todoist Today list). Search, videos and subscriptions keep working — only the feed is gone.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built this to scratch my own itch. I'd open YouTube for one specific video, get caught by the home feed, and look up 30 minutes later having watched none of what I came for. Full YouTube blockers were overkill — I genuinely use search, video pages and subscriptions. I just didn't want the feed. So YouTube Home Blocker does exactly one thing: the moment you hit youtube.com/, it redirects you to a URL you choose. By default it sends you to your Todoist "Today" list, so the scrolling impulse turns into a nudge toward what you actually planned to do. You can point it anywhere — a blank page, your notes, your inbox. It's free, open source, Manifest V3, no tracking, and only touches youtube.com. Would love your feedback — especially: should it stay narrow and YouTube-only, or would you want it to cover other feeds too (X home, Reddit front page)?
