just shipped the thing people kept asking for: EXPORT OF RAW Y COMBINATOR DATA
by•
Since launching ExploreYC, the #1 request in my inbox has been some version of: "This is great, but can I get the underlying data?"
Founders wanted it for competitor research. Investors wanted it for sourcing. Job-seekers wanted to filter every company that's hiring. Data nerds just wanted to play.
So today we're launching the YC Companies Database 👇
What it is:
A single searchable, sortable table of every Y Combinator company — with the columns that actually matter:
Batch, status, industry & subindustry
Country + location
Team size, stage, hiring status
Total funding raised
Employee count + 6-month growth
Top-company flag, nonprofit flag, website

This is a really useful addition.
Raw YC company data is valuable because different people will use it in completely different ways: founders for competitor research, investors for sourcing, job seekers for finding fast-growing teams, and builders for market analysis.
The employee growth and hiring status columns are especially interesting. Curious if you plan to add filters for “recently growing but under-the-radar” companies, not just the obvious top-company flag.

Nice addition. Having access to the raw data makes the product much more useful than just browsing.
I like when a tool gives users the data itself instead of locking everything behind the UI.
