Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built YardMate because I always felt plant identification apps stopped one question too early. Knowing the name of a plant is useful, but once you know its name, the interesting questions begin: Where did it come from? Why does it look like this? What stories have people told about it? And if I’m growing one myself, what does it actually need right now? So I started building YardMate around that idea. It identifies plants and diagnoses problems, but it also helps you understand how to care for them—watering, soil, light, feeding, seasonal changes, and reminders. And for the plants in your own garden, there’s a journal where you can keep photos, care history, and watch them change over time. One of my favorite parts is the plant stories. I’ve been building a growing library of illustrated entries about the history, science, culture, and strange little facts behind the plants we see every day. YardMate is built by one person, in SwiftUI, and localized into 11 languages. I’d love to hear what you think—especially what you wish existing plant apps did better.
