What's the hardest part of understanding a BaZi chart?
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Zhibai, the creator of YAO, an English-language tool for exploring Chinese Four Pillars (BaZi) and the I Ching.
While building YAO, I noticed something interesting: generating a BaZi chart is relatively easy, but understanding what the chart actually says can be much harder, especially if you don't read Chinese.
That's the problem I'm trying to solve.
YAO's free Birth Pattern lets you explore your Day Master, Four Pillars, Hidden Stems, Ten Gods, and Luck Pillars, with explanations of the calculation methods and their limitations.
I'd love to hear your thoughts:
What's the most confusing part of Chinese astrology for a beginner?
Is it calculating the chart, understanding the terminology, or connecting the different elements?
You can try the free experience here:

No signup or purchase required. I'm looking for honest feedback, including what doesn't work.
Thanks for helping shape YAO!
