Xplorer - Your file Xplorer, but with AI, Git, terminal and extensions

by
Xplorer is a free, open-source file manager that replaces apps in your dock. Select a PDF, ask "what's in this file?" — the AI reads the actual content and answers. It's not only AI, but there's a full code editor, integrated terminal (you can run Claude Code), Git UI, and an extension marketplace with 25+ plugins — SSH, image editor, SQLite browser, you name it. Built on Tauri for macOS, Windows, and Linux. First alpha — rough edges, but everything works. Feedback welcome.

🚀 Thanks for checking out Xplorer! This is our very first alpha, so you’ll probably run into rough edges — but we wanted to get it into your hands early and start building it with the community. A few things we’d especially love feedback on: - Does the “AI + file system” interaction feel useful or gimmicky? - What workflows feel missing or slow? - Any bugs, crashes, or confusing UX? If you’ve built plugins, tools, or workflows around file managers before, we’d love your perspective too — the extension system is a big part of where this is going.
