Meanwhile, college students want real project experience and portfolio proof, not just another unpaid "internship" listing that goes nowhere. So we built a micro-internship marketplace: organizations post a bite-sized project, students apply and go through a quick AI-powered interview to get matched, and once the work's done, they walk away with payment and/or a verifiable certificate signed by the organization — something they can actually show future employers. Our process evolved a lot along the way — we started by researching platforms like Internshala, Handshake, and Forage, and realized most of them are built for either large-scale hiring or unpaid volunteer gigs, not this specific "small task, real credit" middle ground. We leaned into serving startups and NGOs first since they're more open to trying something new than big enterprises.

One thing that would help me decide faster is seeing upfront who actually pays for the projects and what the typical rate range looks like. A small badge showing average earnings or hourly range per gig, plus client logos, would make it way easier to tell if the opportunity is worth my time before going through the AI interview.
