Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Cedric, the maker of Wecipe.
Like a lot of you, I used to save recipe videos from TikTok and Instagram... and then never find them again. My camera roll turned into a graveyard of screenshots, and half the time I couldn't even remember which video had the recipe I wanted.
So I built Wecipe: import videos TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, and it automatically extracts the ingredients, quantities and steps into a clean, structured recipe card available forever, even offline.
A few things I'm especially proud of:
- Step-by-Step Cooking Mode: each step takes up the full screen in large text, so you can read it from across the kitchen. The screen stays awake, and steps that need timing come with a built-in timer. There's also an audio description mode: you can choose to listen to each step or read it yourself. You still need to tap the screen to move to the next step.
- Smart shopping list: add several recipes for the week and Wecipe merges duplicate ingredients and sorts everything by category (veggies, meat, dairy...).
- Adjustable servings: one tap and every quantity recalculates instantly.
- Estimated price and calories: every recipe now shows an approximate cost and calorie count, so you know what you're cooking before you even start.
It's free to start (1 recipe/week, no card required), with a Pro option for unlimited imports. Available in English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
Would love your feedback, especially on the extraction accuracy across different platforms that's the part I've iterated on the most.
Happy to answer any questions here!

Does it pull ingredients straight from the video audio or do you paste a link first, and what happens with recipes in languages it does not recognize natively?

@berktrh4 Great question! You don't need to paste the recipe or extract anything manually. You simply share the video directly with our app, and we automatically retrieve the ingredients and cooking instructions from the video's description. We also provide an estimated calorie count and ingredient cost.
As for languages, recipes are translated into the user's language, regardless of the original language of the video.

The smart grocery list that actually factors in what you already have at home is a really thoughtful touch, not just a basic copy paste of ingredients.

Does it handle recipes in multiple languages, or does it only work for content in French right now?
Love how the smart shopping list pulls out quantities automatically instead of just dumping raw text from the captions, that alone saves me so much fiddling when meal planning from reels.

Love how clean the recipe layout is, especially the smart shopping list that actually groups items by aisle. Such a thoughtful touch for something that usually feels like a messy notes app export.
