Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Robbie, the founder of Weather Studio. I'm incredibly excited to launch this today. A bit of backstory: I spent years working as a cinematographer and motion designer, and I kept running into the same frustrating problem. Before every shoot, I'd be toggling between a sun tracker, a weather app, PDF forecasts, and spreadsheets. I'd miss a golden hour window by 10 minutes. I'd plan a shoot only to discover the clouds would block the light during the exact hour I needed. Small mistakes cost thousands and I know I'm not alone. So I started building Weather Studio to solve this for myself. But the more I talked to DPs, producers, and indie creators, the more I realized this wasn't just a personal pain point it was an industry-wide problem that nobody had properly addressed. What makes us different: We're not adapting a consumer weather app. We're building specifically for how cinematographers think. That means sun geometry is the primary lens, not an afterthought. It means your forecasts integrate into your production workflow, not exist in isolation. And it means we're interpreting professional meteorological data not just showing you pretty weather icons.
