Wavee is a desktop dictation app for Windows and macOS that focuses on one core idea: when you speak, the text should land exactly where you’re already working. Not in a separate note box, not in a browser tab, and not in a clunky transcription workflow. `The main things I cared about while building it were privacy, speed, and real desktop ergonomics. Wavee supports local-first transcription, push-to-talk and toggle recording, direct cursor insertion, clipboard mode, voice commands, text cleanup, and searchable transcript history. It’s especially useful if you write a lot, answer repetitive messages, take fast notes, or dictate technical text like commands, paths, and short code references. Wavee is open source, and there’s a 7-day trial for the full app before a license is required. I’d love feedback on three things: 1. Where voice dictation still breaks down in your workflow 2.
