WaterSheep answers yes/no, choice, rating and multi-label questions about text, with a probability for every option. It takes Jev's API requests, so TypeSafe's own Python SDK works with it after a one-line change. Open weights, Apache 2.0, free.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Samrat, and I made WaterSheep, an open-source alternative to TypeSafe's Jev.
When Jev launched, I thought: I can build an open one. WaterSheep does the same job: it answers typed questions about text (yes/no, pick one option, rate on a scale) and adds one Jev doesn't have, tagging every option that applies. Each answer comes with a probability for every option, so your code can act on the confident ones and send the rest to a human.
It takes the same API requests as Jev, so if you already use Jev's Python SDK, you start WaterSheep on your machine and change one URL. Code, weights and the training pipeline are Apache 2.0, and it's free.
It's English-only for now, and rating questions are its weakest type. I'd love to hear where it gets things wrong.
