Can a falling price make online advertising fairer?
by•
I built WAITFORIT.LOL around one simple idea:
big budgets should help, but they shouldn’t be the only way to win attention.
There is one front-page ad slot. The price to take it falls every second.
If €5,000 is too much, wait.
€1,000.
€500.
€100.
Maybe €10.
The catch is that everyone sees the same price, so patience can save you money, but it also gives somebody else more time to move first.
The part I find most interesting is this:
while people wait for the price to fall, they’re looking at the current advertiser’s ad.
So the audience trying to replace you is also the audience you’re advertising to.
I’m curious what Product Hunt thinks:
Does this actually make attention more accessible, or does it just create a different kind of competition?
