Apple owes us money?!

If you sell digital subscriptions on iOS using in-app purchases, Apple takes a 30% commission. Already a pretty painful number when you’re a tiny startup trying to make every £ count.

Luckily, we enrolled Votap in Apple’s Small Business Program, which reduces the commission to 15% for eligible developers. We even had someone at Apple confirm our enrollment.

So I checked our month of revenue… 30% gone. 💀

Thankfully we’re still testing Premium and the numbers are small, so this is probably the best possible time to discover something like this. Now comes the fun part: trying to figure out why and getting hold of Apple again. I’ll update you when we figure out what happened.
