Hi Product Hunt! I'm Chad, and I make VivaLingua. I built it for my own long-distance relationship. My partner and I don't share a first language, and for months our video calls meant typing into a translation app and waiting for the other person to read it. By the time the words landed, the moment was gone. Translator earbuds didn't help either: they're made for standing face to face, not for two people on a video call in different countries. So VivaLingua does one thing: you speak normally, and the other person hears you in their language, out loud, while you're still looking at each other. What it does today: • Video calls with spoken translation and captions, in 41 languages • Face-to-face mode for conversations in person; guests join by scanning a QR code • Guests join free from a link in their browser, no app needed; only the host pays • No subscription: new accounts get 60 free minutes, then you buy minutes when you need them, and bought minutes never expire • Optional AI Voice: record 30 to 60 seconds once, and people hear your translated words in a voice that sounds like you (most languages) Want to try it on your own? Start a guest call on your phone and open the link on your laptop, with headphones on one of them, and talk to yourself across two languages. I'd love your feedback, especially on where you'd use it and which languages matter to you. I'm here all day to answer questions.
