We’re excited to launch our latest free tool: Video Editor by VdoCipher.

Why we built this

At VdoCipher, we've spent 10+ years building video infrastructure, helping thousands of businesses securely host and stream their content.

One frustration we kept coming across was how unnecessarily complicated video editing has become.

Want to quickly trim a lecture, merge a few clips, add captions, or crop a video? You either need to install heavy editing software, create an account, pay for a subscription, or upload your footage to someone else's server.

And when you're working with large files or private content, uploading everything just to make a small edit makes even less sense.

So we built something different.

A free, browser-based video editor that runs entirely on your device. No uploads, no installations, no signup, and no watermark.

Here's what it can do:

- Cut, trim, and merge videos with an intuitive multi-track timeline.
- Crop, resize, flip, and mirror videos, including presets for 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1.
- Add text, captions, and title cards with customizable styling.
- Mix audio tracks to add background music or voiceovers.
- Edit large files, including 4K footage, without waiting for uploads.
- Lossless editing where possible: Simple cuts, trims, and joins can preserve the original quality without re-encoding.
- Hardware-accelerated exports up to 4K in H.264 MP4.
- Works offline after the initial page load.

And most importantly, your videos never leave your device. All editing, previewing, and exporting happen locally in your browser.
