Video Compressor - Private, GPU-accelerated video compression in browser

by•
Most online compressors are slow or upload your private videos to a server. Video Compressors solves this with a unique "Dual-Engine" architecture: āš”ļø 10x Faster: Uses WebCodecs (GPU) acceleration by default for blazing speeds. šŸ›”ļø Fallback: Seamlessly switches to FFmpeg (WASM) if your browser needs it. šŸ”’ 100% Private: Runs entirely offline in your browser. No data ever leaves your device. Free, unlimited, and no watermarks.

Hi Hunters! šŸ‘‹ Maker here! After building video tools for a while, I got frustrated with two things: Uploading huge files to servers takes forever (and feels unsafe). Pure WASM tools in the browser are safe but slow (CPU-bound). So I built Video Compressors to get the best of both worlds. šŸš€ The Secret Sauce: It uses a "Dual-Engine" approach. It first tries to tap into your device's GPU (via the new WebCodecs API) for 10x faster compression. If that's not supported, it gracefully falls back to FFmpeg WASM. I'd love for you to try it out and let me know: Does the GPU mode trigger successfully on your machine? Happy compressing!
