I accidentally became a software developer at 2 AM

by•

I have absolutely no business being here. 😂

My background is small business and government contracting. I’ve never been a software engineer. I don’t have a computer science degree. Honestly, a year ago I probably would’ve panicked if someone opened a terminal in front of me.

Now I’m sitting here at stupid o’clock in the morning, building an actual SaaS application with AI. A real, multi-stage thing with logic, workflows, databases, testing, bugs, more bugs, and an alarming number of conversations with Claude that basically amount to: “Okay. That broke something else. What did you do?”

And somehow… it works. The weirdest part isn’t even that AI can write the code.

It’s that I can actually participate in building something technical without knowing how to build every piece myself.

Which has me wondering: How many other people have accidentally crossed the line from “I’m just messing around with AI” to “oh shit, I’m actually building software”?

And please tell me I’m not the only one who has spent an hour arguing with an AI because it confidently insists it fixed something that is very obviously still broken. 😂

What have you built? Let's talk

The pipeline from just messing around with AI to accidentally building a full SaaS app at 2 AM is so real!
